Hurricane Helene Alert 🚨
Key updates:
▪️ We are actively monitoring Hurricane Helene and taking necessary precautions.
▪️ Office closures: All District offices will be closed Thursday, Sept. 26.
▪️ Lock closures: Navigation through the Burrell Lock, Moss Bluff Lock, and the Apopka Lock and Dam will be suspended starting at sunset on Wednesday, Sept. 25, until further notice.
▪️ Land closures: All District-managed lands, including Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, will close at sunset on Wednesday, Sept. 25. These areas will remain closed until safety assessments can be conducted
▪️ Camping cancellations: All camping reservations through Monday, Sept. 30, are canceled.

I wish teachers didn’t have to continue to work after hours to apply for their own grants to be able to give their students access to hands on learning. St. John’s is severely lacking.
Wish it included private schools. Especially if they’re part of a nonprofit for underprivileged children.
We need to clean out our creeks so they can flow and stop all the spraying that’s killing everything. That’s what St. John’s St. Johns River Water Management District needs to be working on.
